This kit includes 1 foot each of easy, medium, and hard silver solder, in 20G wire. This 3-piece replacement wire solder kit is perfect for jewelers who have everything they need for silver soldering but just need to restock their solder. The melting point of the easy solder is 1265 Degrees F and the flow point is 1295 Degrees F. Since easy solder is at such a low melting point, we recommend using it for sizing and for final seams in soldering projects. Wire solder can be easily cut with pliers or nippers because of its fine gauge. The melting point of the medium solder is 1330 Degrees F and the flow point is 1375 Degrees F. Since medium solder is at a middle ground melting point, we recommend using it for sizing and fabrication. Medium solder will also be stronger than easy or extra-easy solder. Wire solder can be easily cut with pliers or nippers because of its fine gauge. The melting point of the hard solder is 1370 Degrees F and the flow point is 1490 Degrees F. Since hard solder is at the highest melting point, we recommend using it for sizing, fabrication and bezel work. Hard solder is generally used for the first seams when beginning a project, as it is the strongest and highest melting temperature. Hard solder will also be stronger than medium or easy solder. Wire solder can be easily cut with pliers or nippers because of its fine gauge. This solder is cadmium, indium, and antimony free.
